Route Details
We will travel through one of the areas with the greatest geographic and climatic transition in America: The Limarí coast, the Choapa and the origins of Chile. You will get to know the northernmost southern forests of the country that face the advance of the driest desert in the world, announcing the arrival of a new kingdom of cold climate: Chili and a beautiful bay where the mythological Mapuche sea serpent Kay Kay Vilu rests and where the first white man in the history of the country. We will visit a hidden enclave of filibusters and smugglers as well as a mysterious place where he took refuge from one of the most feared women in the colony: Quintrala. We will travel through picturesque towns where the apparition of a virgin in the naranjillo trunk is celebrated and a beautiful glazed pottery unique in Chile is made, we will visit the interesting museum of a collector and the northernmost Chilean palm forests that were inhabited by important Mapuche caciques drawn on the stones of the sector. We will recharge our energies in a beautiful quartz and precious stone deposit to continue along old train bridges until we reach the first conquistador camp in the history of Chile. Later we will continue until we reach a beautiful forest that shows us the highest mountain in America and the Southern Hemisphere, Aconcagua.
Itinerary
- Departure from La Serena to the South, stop at Puerto Oscuro and tasting of Huentelauquen Cheeses.
- Visit the Copper Museum and Conchali lagoon (where the first white man lived in the history of Chile).
- Vilos city tour and visit Quereo archaeological site.
- Arrival at Pichidangui Spa and visit Santa Teresa Church.
- Circuit of ancestral towns of Quilimari, Lo Muñoz Museum, petroglyphs and Culimo palms, Tilama Quartz deposits, railway bridges and the town of Caimanes (Diego de Almagro camp).
- Return to La Serena.
- Optional: Cerro Santa Ines Forest Exploration, Sunset walk to Cueva de la Quintrala night in Pichidangui for programs 2 days/1 night Aconcagua Province.

TEMBETA contempla antes y después del tour una rigurosa sanitización de sus medios de transporte con pisos de goma y/o desechables como también un minucioso protocolo de prevención de contagios. El guía y el conductor irán equipados con mascarillas, termómetro, pulverizador y spray desinfectante, alcohol gel, caja plástica y bolsas desechables, además de agua, linternas UV, máscaras faciales, lentes de protección, guantes quirúrgicos y además de un kit de seguridad y primeros auxilios.
